Are you prepared for Wrath of the Lich King? WoW Insider has you covered!

Shipping this week: Turducken edition

It's Madden time kids. Specifically, it's Madden 09 time. With good old Brett Favre emblazoned on the cover (wearing his Packers uniform or his fancy new Jets uniform), we're sure copies will be flying off shelves and into man-filled living rooms everywhere. We're also fairly certain that the percentage of "sick days" will be pretty high this week. Get out the snacks, the (root)beer and the turduckens. It's game time.

If the foosball isn't your thing, take comfort in the fact that we're also getting Bionic Commando Rearmed on XBLA this week.

Gears 2 Lancer bundle selling like 'hot cakes'

Epic Games wants you to know that the Gears of War 2 Lancer bundle (the one that's exclusive to Amazon.com) is selling like "hot cakes" even at the $139 price point. They probably want you to know that so they can further fuel demand by making the product appear to be limited as its sales success soars. We can totally see through all that marketing fluff. Hot cake sales quotes aside, we also learn that the toy Lancer is in fact electronic and with the power of three C size batteries (probably not included), the 36" replica shakes and makes epic chainsaw sounds. Authentic chainsaw sounds! Sign us up for two!

Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball releases Sept 3rd

After experiencing a delay or two, Gamecock has finally revealed the release date for their sure to be XBLA hit, Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball, and it's coming sooner than you expect. The newly new official Dodgeball release date is Wednesday, September 3rd with pricing still yet to be announced. Remember too that not only are pirates and ninjas featured in the game, but we've already heard that zombies AND robots will be tossing around red balls too. Insta-buy? Maybe ... but only if the game's dodgeball physics engine is up to par and if there's an option to always have ninjas win.

Fable 2 achievements reward players for chicken kicking and orgies

Here you go Gamerscore fanboys, a list of Fable 2 achievements has just been posted over on X360A.org's forums detailing all 50 achievement unlocking feats that must be accomplished to earn all 1000 Gamerscore. And after a quick look-over, we've come to the conclusion that Lionhead has quite the humor when it comes to Fable 2 achievements.

Just look at one of our favorites, the "The Chicken Kicker" achievement where you have to "kick a chicken a respectable distance. As if kicking chickens was remotely respectable." Classic! Or how about "The Illustrated Hero" which is unlocked if you "tattoo every part of your hero's body." If that isn't up your Fable 2 achievement unlocking alley, may we interest you in "The Goth" or even "The Swinger" where you can earn 5 Gamerscore if you "take part in a orgy, responsibly." Yeah ... about that.

Viva PiƱata: Trouble in Paradise, now sporting 4 player ONLINE co-op

The achievements for Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise have just made their way onto the interwebs and among the traditional gardening achievements we spotted an extremely interesting and feature revealing "Full House" achievement. This 10 Gamerscore earning "Full House" achievement pretty much confirms co-op details we never knew about Trouble in Paradise, reading "Play 4 Player Online Co-op for 1 hour". That's right, the once thought to be only two player local co-op Trouble in Paradise will now sport four player online co-op! That is, if the achievements can be trusted. We already have our Vision camera warmed up and ready to go, bring on the four player online piñata fun!

360 Deals: 1600 MS points for $15 and more

It's the week Xbox Live Arcade purchasers have been looking forward to, because Target stores are selling 1600 Microsoft points cards for the oh so nice price of $15. But that's not all, they also have CoD4, Battlefield: Bad Company or Army of Two for $50 and are also giving away $40 gift cards with the purchase of any Xbox 360 console and Madden 09. Best Buy has a similar deal, where if you buy an Xbox 360 console and Madden 09 they'll throw in a free wireless controller. Other than that and Turok for $30, Best Buy's 360 deals are kind of lacking this week. Over at Circuit City, they're selling CoD4 for $40, Gears of War for $30, Juiced for $15, and giving away a free mini football with Madden 09 or a free $5 gift card if you purchase Madden 09 online. Finally, Circuit City is handing out free $30 gift card with the purchase of any Xbox 360 console.

Happy shopping and be sure to stock up on those cheap Microsoft points, because as you're well aware, Castle Crashers is releasing soon!

Red Faction Guerrilla beta drops

Not too long ago Fileplanet announced that the Xbox 360 beta for Red Faction: Guerrilla was being offered exclusively to paid subscribers and we ignored it. Who wants to pay for a beta, anyway ... except for everyone who initially bought Crackdown, that is. Today we finally want to talk about the Red Faction: Guerrilla beta because it is now available for anyone who signs up for a free account and completes a short registration questionnaire on Fileplanet.

Download the 652MB beta today and let us know what you think!

Video: Fall update game installation process

Looky here kids, it's the Fall dashboard update in the hands of some uber l33t dude who "magically" has the new dashboard installed on his Xbox 360. Even better, he (or she) demos the new hard drive game installation process using GTAIV. From the looks of things, the process isn't quick (copying gigs and gigs of data never is), but does actually copy over ever single megabyte from the disc. Though, you'll need the disc to load the game. Pop some popcorn, sit back and enjoy the Fall update game installation process.

Musical Rock Band 2 achievements

Viewable over on IGN is a complete listing of all 50 achievements for a little musical game called Rock Band 2. And achievement / Gamerscore whores will be happy to hear that Harmonix made unlocking Rock Band 2's achievements a bit easier than the original. This time around, the achievements are spread around even more than what Rock Band did allowing 10 Gamerscore to be unlocked for making a band logo, 20 Gamerscore for being a savior three times in a song and (one of our favorites) the 25 Gamerscore "The Bachman-Turner Award" achievement where you have to enable Overdrive for 90 seconds. Make the leap over to IGN to get your Rock Band 2 achievables fix.

X3F Insight: Why should we care about Braid?

Braid has had quite the mixed reaction thus far. Critics universally adore the game. Gamers, on the other hand, are more divided. Some have taken the 1200 Microsoft Point plunge and never looked back. Others see the price as an impenetrable wall or, in some cases, as permission to let Microsoft charge more on future XBLA titles. We decided to take it upon ourselves to make a case for Braid, as it's really one of the best gaming experiences we've had in a while.

Read on to see why we should care about Braid.

iXboxLive allows you to spot friends list on the go

If there's anything iPhone users love to do with their newest piece of technology is add applications that make the experience seem as familiar as possible. Enter iXboxLive, an application developed by first-timer Nicholas Pike that allows users to track friends, browse recent games, reputation and gamerscores.

Before you click download keep in mind this application will run you 99 cents and free options currently exist. According to reviews on the iTunes Store, iXboxLive is more feature robust than some free programs but really ... do you need to see what your friend is playing while waiting in line at the movies?

Damnation debut trailer brings steam punk cowboys

We have to admit it. The premise of Damnation is intriguing. Steam punk mixed with the Old West? Yes please. Taking a look at the debut video, we get a look at Gears of War inspired gameplay with cowboys thrown in for good measure. Then there are the mechs and Nazi-like soldiers that permeate the opening of the video (and presumably comprise the game's enemy forces). It all looks great in theory, but it also seems more than a tad derivative. That's not necessarily a bad thing so long as it's done well. We're hopeful that it is, because Damnation certainly looks interesting.

EA finally patches NCAA Football 09 [Update]

Update: According to readers the patch has not been published or has been removed from EA Servers. Looks like we're back to square one with NCAA Football 09.
