Gadling covers the Olympics

Video: Too Human's crazy combos

A new video of Too Human dropped on GameTrailers today. With the release of the game (finally) only a week away, we figured we'd give it one last look before we dig our claws into the real thing. The video in question covers the game's combo system. While anyone who wants to has had a chance to test it out for themselves with the Too Human demo, the video shows off the kinds of stunts Baldur can pull off at higher levels. Watch the video and see him zipping everywhere at once in a seemingly never ending string of attacks, even taking some time to land some spiffy air combos. Have a look and start counting the days.

From Fable 2 to Gears of War 2 to Too Human (say that three times fast): check out all of Microsoft Game Studios' heavy-hitters coming out this year!

Way too expensive Dark Knight 360s flood eBay

With box office numbers soaring past the $440 million mark, The Dark Knight is one hot, hot, hot brand. This is exactly why lucky promotion winners are willing to put their rare The Dark Knight themed Xbox 360s on eBay, to capitalize on the hype and make a fist full of cash.

Winners of the Dominos Pizza's "The Cards Tell the Tale" Sweepstakes were awarded one of 110 The Dark Knight Xbox 360s (20GB models, no less) and now they're flooding eBay with some very high price tags. If you want one (and really, who wouldn't want a 360 plastered with the Joker on its side?) expect to pay two to three times the value of a Pro console itself. Heck, even "legit" auctions with sixteen plus bids have exceeded the $800 mark, which we expect to only climb. We wish we weren't so seriously jealous right now ...

Flock! developer worried about XBLA layout, delisting not the only answer

Proper Games, the team behind the upcoming sheep herding XBLA game Flock!, is none to happy about the Xbox Live Arcade's categorization or how it's organized. And even though they're in favor of delisting under-performing XBLA titles, they don't think it's the only answer to the problem.

"Flat-out delisting perhaps isn't the solution" Proper Games CEO Paddy Sinclair told Gamesindustry.biz, adding that "I'd also like to see a way of properly categorising games - what's the most-downloaded game at the moment? What's been most bought?" Sinclair then echoed their and many other developers' fears of being lost in the XBLA mix, admitting that Flock! "could just get lost in the morass of arcade conversions" with how the current system is setup. Hopefully, the massive Fall update and a newly re-structured XBLA will solve Proper Games' and our own problems we have with the XBLA. Do it for the sheep, Microsoft, do it for the sheep.

V8 Arcade enters its final submission

After nearing completion for over three months now, development on Isopod Labs' Vigilante 8 Arcade is now finished as they just confirmed the final game submission has been sent to Microsoft. Though, if the Microsoft certification crew finds issues, V8 will have to be submitted again. But we have faith the process will go smooth. Like butta!

Sadly, we still do not have a V8 Arcade release date, but we do know it will cost 800 Microsoft points, utilize DLC and come with PS1 vehicle unlocks. High fives all around for PS1 vehicle unlocks and all thirteen polygons each vehicle is comprised of.

Killswitch, Megadeth and four more join Rock Band

As announced last Friday, a six pack of Roadrunner label Rock Band downloadable content has just released to the Xbox Live Marketplace. And it's cheap too!

The six tracks (viewable after the break) are all value priced at 80 Microsoft points apiece for a limited time and can be downloaded in one felt swoop as a Roadrunner Records Pack for 480 points. With music from Killswitch Engage, Megadeth, Dream Theater, DevilDriver, Airoborne and Machine Head, we have a feeling we'll be plopping down our MS points for a song or two. It's Rock Band DLC Tuesday, go and rock out already ...

Lionhead explains gold transfer process from Pub Games to Fable 2

Curious to know exactly how all your gold gambling that begins this Wednesday, with the release of the Fable 2 Pub Games will reward your hero when Fable 2 releases? Good! Because Lionhead explained the entire process to Eurogamer and your inquisitive nature also shows us your commitment to both knowledge and the gambling craft. Okay, here's the Pub Games gold explanation:

When playing the Pub Games, you first choose a gambler. Proceed to gamble your heart out. Then, when you buy Fable 2 come October, create a hero and wander about until you find a "Gamemaster" at a local tavern or out and about. Accept the Gamemaster's invite to play a game where you'll then be given the chance to merge your Fable 2 hero with your Pub Games gambler. POOF! Your hero will now have access to the gold your Pub Games' gambler accrued. You can even merge many gamblers (and their bank accounts) together into one gambler which can be merged with your Fable 2 hero. But be warned. Once a hero and a gambler have merged, there is no undo option or any going back. Commitment, nice!

Bizarre promises to continue Geo Wars franchise

Chatting with MTV Multiplayer, developers Stephen Cakebread and Craig Howard from Bizarre Creations discussed everything Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2, from their design decisions all the way through the little 3D debug view that was left in the game. But most interesting is Bizarre's commitment to Geometry Wars in the future, telling MTV Multiplayer that "Geometry Wars is definitely a franchise," and that "we have enough game ideas to do Geometry Wars for probably about 10 games. It depends on what will work." Currently, there's a small team at Bizarre actively working on future Geometry iterations, but specifics regarding what games and on which platforms is very hush-hush. We say, crank out the GeoWars! We want at least ten more games. All exclusive to the 360.

Video: Bungie's acceptance video hints at next big Halo related announcement

Holy giant Bungie acceptance speech video hint at their next Halo project Cortana! Witness Bungie's latest canceled E3 announcement tease in their acceptance speech video for EDGE's Interactive Innovation award, which is similar to their Gphoria award acceptance speech but much more juicy in terms of clues regarding their next project. You'll have to watch the video for yourself to really understand what we mean, but if the Halo 3 characters making an appearance in multiplayer levels or blue wireframe environments have anything to do with it, then we're in for a super Halo surprise. Watch, analyze and tell us what secret info you can gather from the acceptance video. Oh, and "even though in Halo 3 you finished the fight, that doesn't necessarily mean that the ride is over."

Shred Nebula warps to XBLA September 3

Crunchtime Games has informed us that their upcoming space shooter Shred Nebula will hit Xbox Live Arcade on September 3. Shred Nebula ditches the now ubiquitous twin-stick shooter design in favor of more traditional flight combat controls. Utilizing thrust-based flying and aiming akin to Asteroids and the classic PC title SubSpace, we're hoping for some epic dogfights. With two single player modes and eight person multiplayer matches that CrunchTime head James Goddard equated with character match-ups in the Street Fighter series, Shred Nebula at least represents something different. On XBLA that's definitely not a bad thing.

Xbox 360 Fancast 079 -- Ah, Euphemisms

We are, perhaps, belaboring the point now, but we really like Braid. Some of us like it more than others -- maybe even to an unhealthy degree -- but we all agree that it's a pretty wonderful game. But it wouldn't be a Fancast if all we did was gush about Braid (at least that what everyone told me when I wouldn't shut up about it), so we cover the usual gamut of Xbox 360 news and welcome back our long lost "Best Comment of the Week" feature. We'll give you a hint: the name of the feature is ironic.

Braid is highest rated XBLA game ever, around 28.5K units sold

After only a few days on the market, the time bending platform puzzler Braid has been tearing up the critical charts. According to the official Braid blog, the game is now the highest rated Xbox Live Arcade game yet released. It currently holds a 92 average on Metacritic and 93 on Game Rankings. According to Metacritic, Braid is in fact the tenth highest rated Xbox 360 game. The game edges out Mass Effect and is currently tied with Guitar Hero II and Rock Band. With one more percentage point Braid would become the eight highest rated 360 title.

Additionally, the official Braid blog reports that the VGChartz estimate that the game has sold about 28.5 thousand units "seems to be in the right neighborhood" but adds that "a lot more" will be needed before the game becomes profitable.

What's the big deal about Braid? Find out in our X3F Insight feature: Why should we care about Braid?

Video: Doing some Dead Space gardening

Here's a gory, explosive and dismemberment treat for you. EA just released a new "Garden" Dead Space trailer that you can view above and even if it doesn't carry the same emotional weight as the Lullaby trailer, it has plenty of fantastic gameplay to compensate. Damn, we just want to shoot the limbs off of everything after watching this. Dead Space dismemberment effects and eerie atmosphere FTW!

Analysts: Xbox 360 outsold PS3 in July

Prior to the release of the official July NPD video game sales numbers that are set to come out this Thursday, the gaming industry's best analysts have released their console sales predictions and things are looking peachy for Microsoft and the Xbox 360.

Analysts Michael Pachter and Jesse Divnich both agree that, after a bad June, the Xbox 360's July hardware sales will overtake the Playstation 3 thanks to the announcement of the 60GB Xbox 360 and low price of the 20GB model. Pachter is pegging the 360 to have sales in the 275K range compared to the PS3's 250K, while Divnich is a bit more 360 optimistic setting July 360 sales at 325K compared to the PS3's 275K. Whatever July's NPD numbers end up being, we have a feeling that our analyst friends will be correct and the 360 will have had a decent July. Pass the champagne!

All of Dishwasher's crazy modes and 3 player co-op

Mr. James Silva updated his The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai developer blog a bit ago (yeah, it has been a week, sue us!) and has revealed all the game modes that are going to be included in the game. Confirmed for inclusion in Dishwasher are game modes Dish Challenge (a wave after wave, kill, kill, kill type mode), Story Mode and Arcade. And Arcade is rather interesting, featuring various challenges comprised of different modes including Insta Kill, Vampire and the slow motion Bullet Time. Make your way over to the dev blog to read all the game mode details.

Also, for whatever reason, we didn't actually acknowledge the fact that The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai is confirmed to sport three player online story mode co-op! Huzzah! That's like, one more player than we expected. Thanks for that Silva.
