If you have a wired 360 controller (the wireless ones use the USB "Play and Charge" cable to charge only) brains-N-brawn has written a MediaCenter AddIn which "provides a seamless experience whether the controller is connected to an XBox 360 console being used as an extender or directly to an MCE PC."XInput, the new DirectX API for the 360 controller, can control the force feedback, return button and joystick data, and even use the headphone and microphone functionality. Unfortunately, since this only applies to the wired model, its usefulness is limited. If only Microsoft would release a PC (or Mac) adaptor so we can use the wireless models with our computers.

What's the differnece? All I did was install Windows Media Center onto my regular PC, thus it is now a MCE PC.

I am using this controller with Windows XP pro and it rocks. Mind you I am using it for games and not as a media center controller.
